It is my distinct honor and privilege to welcome you to the 28th International Conference on Modeling, Analysis and Simulation of Wireless and Mobile Systems (MSWiM 2026), held in Paris, France, from October 26th to October 30th, 2026, and hosted by ESIEE Paris and Université Gustave Eiffel.

Over nearly three decades, MSWiM has established itself as a flagship international venue for researchers, practitioners, and industry leaders in wireless networking, mobile computing, and dynamic performance evaluation. We are delighted that this 28th edition continues our proud tradition of scientific rigor and technical excellence. Highlighting the conference’s selectivity and high academic standards, this year’s main technical program maintained a highly competitive acceptance rate of 19%, selecting only the top-tier contributions from a large pool of international submissions.

Putting together an international conference of this scale is a multifaceted procedure and, above all, a collective team effort. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to our Technical Program Co-Chairs, Enrica Zola (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Spain) and Peng Sun (Duke Kunshan University, China), who meticulously managed the entire review and selection process from the initial Call for Papers to the finalization of the technical schedule. We extend our sincere thanks to the members of the Technical Program Committee and external reviewers whose expert evaluations and constructive feedback ensured the high scientific merit of the accepted contributions. Accepted papers are submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore.

This year’s program offers an exceptionally rich technical scope spanning non-terrestrial networks (NTN), dynamic vehicular computing (V2X), 5G/B5G time-sensitive industrial systems, decentralized AI, and resilient IoT edge management. A major highlight of MSWiM 2026 includes two distinguished keynote addresses by world-renowned experts: Prof. Ana García Armada (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain), discussing “Non-Coherent MIMO Communications: From Massive to Cell-Free”. Prof. Abdelsalam (Sumi) Helal (University of Bologna, Italy), addressing “Rethinking IoT Programmability: From Things to Generative Smart Spaces”.

In addition to the main technical paper tracks, MSWiM 2026 incorporates: Key interactive sessions designed to foster discussion, showcase emerging tools, and nurture future leadership; Poster sessions which provide a dynamic platform for researchers to present ongoing work, preliminary results, and novel conceptual breakthroughs in a highly interactive setting; Demos & Tools Sessions which display real-world prototypes, custom simulation frameworks (such as LEO satellite network emulators and 5G-IIoT testbeds), and hands-on experimental setups; PhD Forum: that offer a dedicated, supportive colloquium where doctoral students present their dissertation work, gain constructive feedback from senior researchers, and build international networks for their future academic careers; and Tutorial sessions which feature specialized, deep-dive instructional sessions, including dynamic computing continuum simulation using the ENIGMA framework.

In parallel with the main conference, MSWiM 2026 hosts five co-located international symposia and workshops: PE-WASUN 2026: The 22nd Symposium on Performance Evaluation of Wireless Ad Hoc, Sensor, and Ubiquitous Networks; MobiWAC 2026: The 23rd International Symposium on Mobility Management and Wireless Access; Q2SWinet 2026: The 20th Symposium on QoS and Security for Wireless and Mobile Networks; and AI-SMARTHealth 2026: AI-Driven Security and Modeling for Wireless and Mobile Healthcare Systems.

Over the years, these co-located events have matured into highly competitive, authoritative forums in their own rights.

We owe special gratitude to our organizing chairs—including our Workshop, Tutorial, Demo/Poster, PhD Forum, Publicity, Registration, and Local Arrangements committees—for managing the extensive operational details that make an event of this magnitude run seamlessly. We also acknowledge our Steering Committee for their ongoing stewardship and advice behind the scenes.

A very special thanks to our Director, Jean Mairesse, for his unwavering support and trust. We are also grateful to the entire ESIEE Paris staff for their availability and for all the facilities and resources provided to make this event possible.

Finally, we gratefully acknowledge our technical co-sponsors—the IEEE, the IEEE France Section, and the IEEE Communications Society France Chapter—for their endorsement and support.

We are thrilled to welcome you to Paris for MSWiM 2026. We are confident that you will find these proceedings full of inspiring insights, productive discussions, and valuable international collaborations.

It is our great pleasure to warmly welcome you to the 28th International Conference on Modeling, Analysis, and Simulation of Wireless and Mobile Systems (MSWiM 2026), which will take place in Paris, France, from October 26 to 30, 2026. Building on a long-standing tradition of excellence, MSWiM 2026 brings together researchers and practitioners from around the world to exchange ideas, present innovative results, and advance the state of the art in the modeling, analysis, simulation, and performance evaluation of wireless and mobile systems.

The Call for Papers for MSWiM 2026 attracted 248 submissions from 49 countries across six continents, reflecting the conference’s continued international visibility and broad appeal. The diversity of the submitted contributions is also reflected in this year’s Technical Program Committee (TPC), which brought together more than forty experts from academia and industry. Their expertise and commitment were essential to maintaining the high technical standards that have characterized MSWiM throughout its history.

The submitted papers cover a broad range of topics at the intersection of wireless networking, mobile computing, distributed systems, artificial intelligence, and performance evaluation. Among the most prominent research areas represented in this year’s submissions were:

These topics illustrate the continued evolution of wireless and mobile systems and highlight the important role of modeling, simulation, and performance evaluation in understanding and designing increasingly complex networked environments. Beyond these leading areas, the technical program encompasses a diverse spectrum of topics, including industrial and cyber-physical networks, security and privacy, energy efficiency, AI and machine learning, and edge/cloud computing. The contributions address challenges related to wireless and mobile networks, the Internet of Things, edge and cloud computing, vehicular and ad hoc networks, artificial intelligence and machine learning, resource and energy management, security and privacy, as well as emerging architectures, applications, and experimental platforms.

All 248 submitted papers underwent a rigorous peer-review process.
