The Sagrada Família is Antoni Gaudí’s best-known work and has become an undisputed symbol of Barcelona. Extravagant, ambitious and controversial, this unique modern temple has been under construction since 1882, and is expected to be completed by 2030.

The Museu Picasso is housed in five Catalan-Gothic-style palazzos dating from the 13th and 14th centuries, and opened to the public in 1963. It is now an essential museum for anyone wanting to find out about the artist’s formative years.

Montjuïc Hill has borne witness to, and been the focus of key events that have shaped its personality. The first such event was the 1929 International Exhibition held in Barcelona which fostered the development of the zone. More recently, the 1992 Olympic Games brought about major renewal

Getting to Barcelona

Barcelona Airport, El Prat, is located just 16km outside the city. Girona Airport, north of the city, and Reus, to the south, are a little over an hour away. Lleida Airport, to the west, is just over two hours away.
